AKEREDOLU’S ENTREPRENEURIAL PROGRAMMES: TOOLS TO CHECKMATE SOCIAL VICES

The Akeredolu-led Government in Ondo State has been commended for initiating windows whereby youths can harness opportunities that incapacitate the rise in social vices.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Gender., Hon Mrs Olamide Falana while speaking on ‘ Combating Social Vices in Our Society’ made this statement as a Guest Speaker at the 2022 Fizzy Award organized by the Chronicle Magazine at Sunbeth Hotel, Akure.

The Governor’s aide lauded the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for taking the bull by the horns by setting up the Ondo State Entrepreneurship Agency (ONDEA) to enhance the growth of MSMEs.

She also praised the establishment of Agro Biz Agency, which is another citizen-based initiative programme by the Aketi-led Government to enhance Agrobiz’s potential for the benefit of the youth.

Most importantly, Arakunrin according to her, has provided the needed architecture for internal security and reduction of vices through the Amotekun corps as well as other developmental projects which is geared at providing jobs and social protection for the most vulnerable in the State.

Falana had earlier condemned the bane of social vices in society among which are negligence of parents, the quest for sudden wealth, the advent of the internet and lots more.

She however enjoined everyone to commence a duty call from home in order to protect our youth from the sweeping wave of Immorality and cultural violence.

The Publisher and Editor of Chronicle Magazine, Olaseni Oyesusi, noted that the programme of award was organized to promote hard work and integrity by honouring personalities who have carved a niche for themselves in their career.

Berating the alarming rise of social vices in society, Olaseni Oyesusi strongly maintained that the trend must be incapacitated.
